Brennan’s garda has to cop on!
FRANCIS Brennan had his hands full with a garda who wouldn’t eat Vietnamese food in the first episode of his new travel series.
The TV star and hotelier was clearly put out by Garda Brian Whitney’s demands.
The 35-year-old Dublin officer was also terror-struck when forced into one of Hanoi’s ‘cyclo’ tricycle taxis.
‘There’s no rules of the road – there’s absolutely no rules of the road over here,’ he snapped at Francis.
Brian was one of 12 paying guests who turned up at Dublin Airport with no idea where they were going on the mystery 12-day trip.
Most seemed thrilled at the destination though and TV viewers can see how they get on in the first episode of Francis Brennan’s Grand Tour of Vietnam on RTÉ One tonight (8.30pm).
But Brian struggled: ‘I don’t eat any of it. Can I order something different? I knew the food was going to be difficult. I am a very simple eater. I like plain food. I like meat. I like potatoes.’
A weary Francis gave his verdict: ‘You don’t eat any of it? I wouldn’t like him to be in charge of the canteen.’
