Kilkenny’s next batch on the rise

IT’S been hard to get away from talk that Kilkenny are in transition and the long-term future of the senior team is in question. Yet there has been a quiet revolution. Last Sunday, the minor hurlers wrestled back the Leinster title. On Wednesday, Eddie Brennan’s Under-21s recorded a comprehensive win over Wexford (right), and although St Kieran’s lost to Our Lady’s College of Templemore in March’s All-Ireland colleges final, the Cats nursery were chasing a fourth successive Croke Cup. The next wave might not be that long in coming.
