THERE were vital wins for both Kilkenny and Dublin yesterday as they continued their impressive progress in this year’s All-Ireland senior Championship.
Kilkenny overcame Galway on a scoreline of 2-10 to 1-8, Michelle Quilty and Shelly raising the green flags for the Cats.
Dublin earned a two-point win over Waterford. In what was a tense affair, the Dubs’ Aishling Maher had five points and Faye McCarthy hit four in their 0-15 to 1-10 win. Áine Lyng netted the only goal of the game for the Déise.
In the intermediate Championship Down beat Galway 3-19 to 5-10 while Meath beat Cork 3-9 to 0-17.
