Sweeper system not always at fault for congestion
KILLEAGH is a Cork village that Wexford and Waterford supporters are likely to remember for all the wrong reasons ahead of this afternoon’s game, as there are currently serious road works being undertaken there, which will cause chaos for match traffic. A statement from Croke Park on Friday seemed to accept that there will be chaos on the roads this morning and afternoon with two sets of supporters coming from the same part of the country. Motorists travelling from north Wexford and northern Waterford have been advised to use the M8 (Dublin to Cork motorway), as it will assist the flow of traffic. It will be interesting to see how many supporters heed that advice. DAVY FITZGERALD must feel he will never be able to shake off his association with Waterford. But an interesting thing about today’s game is that Fitzgerald is returning to the sideline at Páirc Uí Chaoimh for the first time since patrolling it in the 2011 Munster hurling final. What happened that day? Tipperary scored 7-19 against his Déise side. Fitzgerald (right) might be hoping that the reconstruction of the stadium will banish any personal demons from that particular day.
