Clarification

On 2 July 2017, in an interview Christy Dignam gave to the Irish Mail on Sunday’s Danny McElhinney, we referred to an interview Mr Dignam had given to journalist Ken Sweeney. We accept that a subsequent disagreement between Mr Dignam and Mr Sweeney had been over whether Mr Dignam had told Mr Sweeney his cancer had returned, and not, as stated, whether his cancer had returned more aggressively than before. We acknowledge that Mr Dignam did indeed tell Mr Sweeney that his cancer had returned in the recorded interview.
