Why I always believe in transit

-

Years ago, when Ryanair destinations from Dublin weren’t as plentiful, I used to fly via Stansted all the time. You couldn’t check a bag right through but I only ever travelled with a carry-on anyway. It worked like a dream. And now, even though there are direct flights to Chania, I’m heading there – via the UK – in September. The price was simply too good to miss. Guess how much? £35.99! That’s around €40/€41. For a four-hour flight to Crete! And the Leeds flight was only €14.99. Add to that the fact that I can spend a day in Leeds with my niece and family and it’s a winning formula all round. Never ignore the transit option – you can be lucky.
