But Al Porter’s profile in the UK is about to get another boost, having been commissioned to make a radio documentary about his comic influences. The Men Who Made Me will, according to the BBC, ‘be an autobiographical journey through his love of light entertainment and how this often unfairly maligned artform helped shape him’. The Today FM presenter could not be reached for comment last night but a spokesman said, ‘He’s delighted the show has been picked up by the BBC.’
