Branson’s wake-up call
HOLED up in the wine cellar of his island hideaway, Richard Branson was initially quite sanguine as Irma swept a ghastly dance of destruction through the Caribbean. The billionaire tycoon felt ‘privileged’ to experience nature’s raw, elemental power and its ‘eerie but beautiful’ atmosphere.
But now his son Sam is facing up to the prospect that his home has been destroyed by the hurricane Branson Snr now must realise that Mother Nature is no respecter of status or wealth.
