Dáil bar disgrace
Here we go again with drinks not paid for at the Dáil bar.
All signed-for bills from the bar should be given to the appropriate department every month so the bills can be automatically stopped from a TD’s salary or expenses. It’s as simple as that.
I will never understand why politicians can’t pay for drink with credit cards or cheques: they earn plenty – too much, in my opinion.
Your paper has reported that Charlie Flanagan is looking into it (MoS, August 6). Hasn’t he enough on his plate at present? All we are short of now is having a tribunal on the Dáil bar.
Bill Delaney, Lucan, Co. Dublin.
