Brave Anne Devlin
This month marks the anniversary of the death of the patriot Anne Devlin, faithful friend of Robert Emmet. She suffered much at the hands of cruel crown agents. Her headstone at Glasnevin tells of her many noble qualities and of how she lived and died ‘in obscurity and poverty’. She deserves to be remembered with pride.
