Meghan’s ex’s familiar tale
Drama draws on romance with Harry
MEGHAN MARKLE’S former husband Trevor Engelson has signed a deal to produce a new TV series – which, funnily enough, just happens to be about an ex-wife marrying a member of the British royal family.
In a plot that’s surely inspired by his own life with Markle, and which will no doubt embarrass the British monarchy, the TV show will feature a beautiful ‘commoner’ who weds a British prince – and an ex-husband who finds himself sharing custody of their children with the royals.
While the as yet untitled TV show is fictional – Trevor and Meghan never had children – he admits the show is inspired by real-life events, although he stops short of admitting that the characters are based on Meghan and Harry.
The idea began after a conversation Trevor, 40, had with fellow producer Dan Farah, during which they imagined what his life would have been like if he and Meghan had children and had to share custody with the royals.
Fox TV has ordered a pilot episode of the show and if it proves successful, they will give the go-ahead for a full series. It is expected to be a publicist’s dream thanks to its subject matter.
