releasing a video for their new single this week, U2 have dropped out of the Irish Top 100 after reaching No.93. The band’s latest single, You’re The Best Thing About Me, entered the Irish charts two weeks ago at No.97. Not a great start but presumably Bono et al, left, were hoping for a higher position as the track got more airplay. The following week the single did move up the charts… but just four places to No.93. Now after three weeks on release it has dropped out of the Top 100.

The track is the first single from U2’s forthcoming album, Songs Of Experience, and it has fared just as badly in other places. It has dropped out of the Top 100 in the UK and has yet to chart in the US.
