RFU consider naming rights sale
NEW England rugby chief Steve Brown has revealed the RFU could soon sell the naming rights to Twickenham.
Predecessor Ian Ritchie had hinted at a multi-millionpound deal — following similar arrangements in Wales, Scotland and Ireland.
‘It’s always been on the agenda but the opportunity hasn’t quite been there,’ said Brown, who took over this month.
‘We wouldn’t rule it out at all but it would have to be right.’
Brown also revealed the governing body have been sharing research with Manchester City on a new training base.
Discussions have been tabled about building a unionowned centre but no proposals have been approved.
‘We will continue to look if there is a version of that which would work better for us,’ said Brown.
