Hurling will be hot and heavy in ’18
DAVI FITZGERALD and Wexford will surely take a lot from the new hurling format for 2018 that was rubberstamped at Special Congress last weekend.
People are still trying to get their heads around a round-robin system in Munster and Leinster but I think it was a brave call, especially when you have so many teams at a competitive level.
Galway are champions after a unique final against Waterford. Cork are Munster champions. Limerick Under 21 champions. Wexford are back in the top flight after being promoted from Division 1B.
The championships are going to be condensed. There will be less gaps and the action will come hot and heavy – which is what players want.
