The 80 boys who will be going through life named ‘Baby’

-

BIZARRELY, 63 boys were given the name ‘Baby’ in 1992 and a further 17 the next year.

The name of Ireland’s most popular priest – Ted – reached its highest point in 52 years last year, with 30.

It’s not hard to spot the children of music lovers. At least 28 baby Elvises were born in Ireland between 2002 and 2016, while Bowie features at least 15 times since 2011.

But nothing compares to Prince. It topped the charts of pop star names, with 90 between 2001 and 2016.

A few soccer-mad parents have named their sons Ronaldo, with three boys of that name born last year.
