FASHION designer Vera Wang’s spring collection is so bizarre, even the author who inspired it is gobsmacked.
The bonnet chic range is based on The Handmaid’s Tale, the Channel 4 drama starring Elisabeth Moss, top right. But Margaret Atwood, who wrote the original novel about a dystopian society that treats women as property of the state, said: ‘I’m not sure what the message is. It’s considered to be an homage.’
So how does Vera explain her work, pictured right? ‘For the collection, control ultimately begets selfexpression,’ she says. We’re glad she cleared that up…
