€300,000 pay for bus boss
FORMER Bus Éireann boss Martin Nolan received a pay package worth almost €300,000 in the lead-up to his departure from the financially crippled state company in January.
The company’s most recent set of accounts also reveal that losses rose significantly during the past financial year – up from €5.9m in 2015 to €9.5m in 2016.
Mr Nolan’s basic salary is listed as €190,000. This is on top of €15,000 worth of taxable allowances and benefits in kind, post-retirement benefit costs of €49,000 and social insurance costs of €22,000.
His post-retirement benefit costs were listed as €46,000.
The company is currently seeking €17m of annual operational savings.
