IF anyone has a good idea as to who can become the next David Meyler and step from the shadows within the Republic of Ireland team room, it is probably the man himself.

As well as his 152,000 followers on Twitter, close to 100,000 on Instagram and more than 12,000 on Facebook, the 28-year-old is also an avid gamer with over 230,000 subscribers to his YouTube channel which is predominantly the Hull City player live streaming FIFA every day. Meyler knows his stats so if any Irish player is going to come from left field - like he did during this qualifying campaign to become such an influential figure - he should be ahead of the curve.
