Barry Andrews

IN AN article starting on the front page of our issue of September 24, headed ‘Goal bosses hid links to probed firm’ and ‘US Inquiry into kickbacks and bribes led to charity chief quitting’, we referred to a report prepared by accounting firm BDO into aspects of the charity Goal.

Barry Andrews was the former chief executive of Goal from January 2013 to October 2016.

We wish to reiterate that Mr Andrews had no involvement in the matters which were the subject of criticism, and that there was no suggestion in the BDO report, or elsewhere, of any form of wrongdoing on his part in his role as CEO of Goal.

We are happy to make this clear.
