‘Our very first shoot, for Darkness On The Edge Of Town. He had this supermarket paper bag stuffed with a T-shirt, a flannel shirt, a jacket and jeans. I gave him some suggestions of how I wanted him to pose, and he added poses and gestures that he felt lent themselves to the album. It was a 50-50 thing.’
