Halligan isn’t fit to hold a ministry

John Halligan is a buffoon and an embarrassment to the Government. First we had the North Korea farce, then this idiotic job interview with the marriage question.

If Halligan were a member of Fine Gael, there’s no way he would have a ministry: he would be tucked away quietly on the backbenches.

Alas, he’s an independent and because Fine Gael is so short of seats and desperate for Dáil support, it has ended up handing a proper job to this ridiculous man.

He’s the most compelling argument for voting for a major party candidate rather than an independent. But he’s also a reminder that this ramshackle coalition Government is unsustainable.
