LIGHTING THE WAY FORWARD...

The SeeSense Icon smart cycling light has the bike world in a spin. Designed in Co. Down, it helps cyclists be seen and can notify a family member if they have been in an accident. The light also collects data about the environment it’s used in. This data is currently being used in a new project ,as part of a Smart Dublin initiative, where the City Council and SeeSense collect data from cyclists who signed up for the trial. SeeSense are collaborating with data scientists at Queen’s University, Belfast to produce insights for city authorities and road users. Volumes of traffic, road surface condition, and even journey times could all be analysed to help cities make better informed decisions when planning for the future.
