Home fit for a Princess!

... well the previous inhabitant of this €920k pad has upgraded to a Palace

FROM the outside, this two-storey home in a leafy Toronto suburb looks quaint and unassuming, but behind its dark grey walls a royal romance was able to blossom in private.

For this is Meghan Markle’s former home, where she played host to her boyfriend Prince Harry during their long-distance relationship.

While Los Angeles-born Ms Markle was in Toronto to film the legal drama Suits, Harry would visit up to twice a month.

Located on sleepy Yarmouth Road in the well-heeled Toronto neighbourhood of Seaton Village the home, reportedly paid for by the show, was home to Meghan for several years

But now she has moved to Kensington Palace, its owner has put the three bedroom property up for sale for Can$1.4million (€920,000) – Can$860,00 (€569,000) more than she paid a decade ago.

A strict photo-ID vetting system has been put in place by the vendor, Freeman Real Estate, to discourage Royal fanatics from snooping around but here the Mail on Sunday can offer a glimpse inside the chic home.

The open-plan house, which is described by the estate agents as ‘luxe’, boasts a cinema room, a high-spec kitchen-diner, three bedrooms and two bathrooms.

Decorated in 50 shades of grey, the property was once home to Meghan’s selection of stylish coffee table books written by the likes of Noam Chomsky, as well as her huge shoe collection, an array of scented candles, prayer beads and yoga mats.

It was also home to her two beloved dogs, Bogart and Guy, whose kennel and puppy play area, complete with sandpit, remains outside in the garden where she was known to throw summer barbecues with friends.

As Meghan prepares for a life spent in opulent palaces and Scottish castles the house must now seem worlds away.
