‘Nerdy’ Ireland

I WISH the Irish would get their head out of their rear ends regarding Brexit and the EU.

The UK is Ireland’s biggest market and the prevailing smug delight at its travails reminds me of the nerd at the the top of the class, hand perennially in the air, laughing when someone gets into trouble with teacher.

Ireland should be joining Britain by exiting this abomination. We have lost 75% of fishing rights in our waters in exchange for road building and don’t-growtoo-much-food grants.

And let’s not forget the €60bn of debt foisted on us to protect European banks – there is no such thing as a free lunch!
