Groped by male colleagues, too… but I didn’t mind

-

People must be getting a bit tired of all the media reports of wellknown women being ‘touched’ by men in recent years. I feel the focus of this issue has gone totally over the top.

Looking back on my own similar experiences when working in a store a few decades ago, a couple of my male colleagues would sometimes playfully feel my backside. Getting a certain amount of satisfaction from the advances, I never considered reporting the incidents to the manager.

One of the ‘touchers’ took me out on dates a few times and actually treated me in a gentlemanly manner. During my time in that store there were also cases of female staff members playfully pinching male colleagues. So, I am waiting to hear or read of a male star being harassed by a female.

But, seriously, far too much is being made of these exchanges, some of which may be quite harmless. Liz Lawless, Navan, Co. Meath.
