Is social media complicit?

GANGS of thieves are using popular Facebook pages that upload the locations of Garda checkpoints around the country before they set out to raid rural homes along our motorway network, the Irish Mail on Sunday has learned. The pages give live updates of what roads checkpoints have been set up on, helping gangs avoid them. The pages are updated throughout the day. A source told MoS the practice was an ‘effective’ tactic of criminals gangs.
