Who’s going to make the news in 2018?

LUCY Kennedy, left, looks set to be the telly standout of 2018. The mother of three will not only host Ireland’s Got Talent, she’s also returning for another series of TV3’s hit Livin’ with Lucy. Love it.

TV star Kathryn Thomas’s life is to change utterly after announcing last month that she was expecting with fiancé Pádraig McLoughlin. But Kathryn, right, is back on TV next week with Operation Transformation.

RTÉ and TV3 are set to go head-tohead in the battle for reality ratings this year. RTÉ kicks off with Dancing with the Stars in January although with it already labelled Dancing with the Staff they could see TV3 waltzing to ratings glory. TV3 are hoping to show off their talent with their first series of Ireland’s Got Talent which showcases early in the New Year.

WITH two Oscar nominations already under her considerably young belt Saoirse Ronan is widely tipped to pick up a golden statue this year. The actress, above, has wowed Hollywood in Lady Bird and while nominations are not yet announced Saoirse is being touted for a gong.

PIPPA O’Connor had a great 2017. Pippa, above, bought a mansion in the K Club for €1.3million as her profits and popularity peaked last year.
