Worth a punt ... someone’s banking on an EU implosion

-

IT is reported that almost €350m (€349.48m to be exact) worth of Irish punts remain unaccounted for. Spurred by this exciting information, I have lately checked and find I can account for £1.93 of that, which is worth €2.45. The remaining sum (which stands stubbornly at about €349.48m despite my stash) is a mystery. Do all 4.7 million of us have €0.74 (60p) worth of punts apiece down the back of our sofas? Or – and here it gets interesting – is there just one fella, hanging onto his Communion money in case the entire European project fails? Mark my words, you’re laughing now….
