Blair denial dismissed
MICHAEL Wolff has scoffed at Tony Blair’s denial of having told Donald Trump that the British intelligence service MI6 may have leaked details of his team’s contacts with the Russians.
Repeating the allegation, Mr Wolff said that the former British prime minister may have made the claim in an effort to ‘curry favour’ with Mr Trump as part of an audacious attempt to rebuild his career as an international statesman.
Mr Blair angrily denied the alleged MI6 leak this week, stating: ‘This story is a complete fabrication from beginning to end.’
However, Mr Wolff laughed off his denial and told the Mail on Sunday: ‘ I am totally confident that he said it. I was on the couch in the White House and I saw Mr Blair.’
