NO goals, no send-off for Stevenage’s soon to be demolished North Terrace, but Darren Sarll was happy.

This goalless draw was, in the eyes of the Stevenage boss, a victory. It was only a stunning goalkeeping display that denied his team victory against the Championship side.

Ben Wilmot saw his header turned over acrobatically by Reading’s Anssi Jaakkola. Jaakkola then had to fly and save a volley from Jack King.

‘Stevenage are the winners in every sense,’ Sarll said. ‘Financially, physically, everything.’

Reading manager Jaap Stam was impressed by his League Two opponents. ‘They could make it difficult for a lot of teams,’ he said.
