Preston cash in after O’Connor’s jackpot joy

FOR the second time in a week, Preston North End hit the Irish Lotto jackpot.

Defender Kevin O’Connor scooped €1million on the Lotto earlier this week, but manager Alex Neil was even happier with the starring roles of fellow Irishmen Alan Browne and Daryl Horgan in his Championship side’s win at League Two Wycombe.

Browne hit a pearler and a penalty in addition to Josh Harrop’s double and former Dundalk man Horgan got a goal to cap his excellent performance.

Neil said: ‘It was the perfect day for us.’

Luke O’Nien netted for Wycombe, whose manager Gareth Ainsworth admitted: ‘The upset went out the window after the first minute.’
