Southampton want Walcott

SOUTHAMPTON will negotiate with Arsenal over the signing of Theo Walcott this month.

Arsenal want more than £25million for Walcott, who earns £110,000 per week on a contract that expires at the end of next season. That is steep money for Southampton, despite their £75m sale of Virgil van Dijk to Liverpool.

They will try to open talks with the north Londoners in the coming days over the possibility of lowering the asking price in order to bring Walcott back to St Mary’s, where he came through the academy.
