AN Irish blogger has been ‘called out’ on an influential Instagram page for ‘fixing’ two competitions in favour of her friends.

In 2015, lifestyle blogger Terrie McEvoy was promoting and running competitions on behalf of family-run firm Tower Jewellers.

Taking to social media at the time she announced two winners as being Aisling Adams and Yasmin Fallon.

Now, over two years later the Instagram social media page @bulls***callerouter revealed that Aisling was Terrie’s best friend and Yasmin was her brother’s partner.

Ms McEvoy, 26, works fulltime as a nurse and she relocated to Australia last year. But she has continued to blog from Down Under for a number of Irish brands.

However, her online world was turned upside-down as her questionable behaviour was exposed.

In the immediate aftermath, Tower Jewellers moved to distance themselves from the controversy and said: ‘We deeply apologies [sic] for any disloyalty that may have been portrayed during the course of our collaborations and we trust Terrie can clear this up.’

Taking to Snapchat, Ms McEvoy issued a grovelling apology and attributed her behaviour to the follies of youth, saying that she ‘was only new to blogging’ when she rigged the competitions.

While she initially garnered some support for her ‘mea culpa’, she was roundly criticised when she finished her apology by saying ‘they’ve gotten what they wanted’.

Ms McEvoy declined to comment further when contacted, but friends said that she is ‘extremely upset’ at the level of outrage directed at her.
