COULD there be any finer embodiment of celebrity vacuity than Vogue Williams and her fiancé Spencer Matthews? (‘A match made in celebrity heaven,’ MoS, February 4).

Once upon a time, you became famous by excelling in some field, whether it was as an actor or a singer or whatever else.

But what on earth have this pair ever achieved? Both have made their names through the most inane forms of reality TV, Made In Chelsea in his case and the very obscure Fade Street in hers. Their sole talent seems to be a relentless gift for selfpromotion, a life lived through Twitter and, more importantly, Instagram.

I couldn’t care less about them but I’m worried by the message they send out to young people, that you can earn a good living from such an inane, narcissistic existence. Maureen Donnelly, Portlaoise, Co. Laois.
