Not singing from same sheet
A CLEVERLY crafted quote – ‘Horslips stood for a hopeful, outward-looking, inclusive vision of Ireland with plenty to drink and a blue Range Rover’ – was tossed at the ‘saddos’ who lifted one of the band’s songs for the Irexit conference in Dublin last weekend. Back in the 1970s their conspicuous consummation with rigorous quality control was an integral component of Horslips’ immodest mission statement: ‘Not so much Four Horsemen of the Apocalypse, more those bollixes in Horslips.’
