TOUR WARS!

Just one week after announcing a £50m comeback the Spice Girls are already out of harmony over every little detail

- by Katie Hind

ONE of the Spice Girls’ most enduring lyrics is their earnest insistence that ‘friendship never ends’.

But as the group’s five members prepare to reunite for one of the pop world’s biggest – and potentially most lucrative – comebacks, it appears the girls may already be putting one of their defining Girl Power mantras to the test.

The Mail on Sunday understands that, 11 years after their last global tour, the band are now at loggerheads over the details of their £50 m comeback.

Sources close to the girls fear that feuds over such apparently minor details as the band’s official photographer and the venues for meetings could halt the comeback before it even begins.

With so many competing egos, negotiating the success of the much-anticipated round-the-world tour looks like an impossible task.

And already Posh Spice Victoria Beckham and Ginger Spice Geri are said to be locking horns over who is in control.

But the stakes are high, as the reunion is set to net each member – also including Scary Spice Melanie Brown, Sporty Spice Melanie Chisholm and Baby Spice Emma Bunton – £10million.

Victoria, reportedly the most reluctant to join the comeback, is already worth an estimated £340 million alone.

The round-the-world tour is expected to kick off in the UK before travelling to America and China, with the quintet performing hits such as Wannabe, Goodbye and Viva Forever! However, no new songs are expected.

But the big question, given their personality clashes, is whether they will ever be in harmony.

Here we detail some of the flashpoints already emerging.
