Froome bid goes flat in Spain race

-

CYCLING:

Chris Froome fell to 14th overall at the Ruta del Sol in Spain after he suffered a puncture.

The Team Sky rider ended up one minute and 19 seconds behind stage four winner, Belgium’s Tim Wellens and the Lotto Soudal rider now leads the race overall.

To make matters worse for Froome (above), competing for the first time since an adverse drugs test from last year’s Tour of Spain was made public, it was his teammate Wout Pouls who lost the overall lead. RUGBY:

England outcast Danny Cipriani is set to be offered a £50,000-a-game deal next season in Japan. Sportsmail understands two Top League sides are ready to make half-a-million pound bids for the 30-year-old who will leave Wasps in May. Ex-All Blacks out-half Dan Carter has already signed for the Kobe Steelers.
