King leads by example and puts Antrim to the sword

ROSS KING helped himself to a whopping 16 points as Laois got the better of Antrim in O’Moore Park.

Four points from Neil McManus helped Antrim into a 0-4 to 0-1 lead after 10 minutes but three well-struck frees from Laois captain King had the sides level. Laois built on that momentum with Dwyer, Neil Foyle, James Ryan and debutant Ciaran Comerford all finding the posts.

Antrim hit back with three in a row from McManus, Nigel Elliott and Conor Johnston but Laois finished the half strong with two from King and a pair of long-range frees from goalkeeper Enda Rowland hadning them a 0-13 to 0-8 half-time lead.
