‘Clonked’ on head

WITHNAIL & I star Richard E Grant has been taken to hospital – after being ‘clonked’ on the head by a heavy metal bar.

The incident happened on Friday night while the 60year-old was at his home in Gloucestershire in England.

After being treated in hospital, he took to Twitter to thank staff there.

The actor tweeted: ‘Heavy metal bar clonked my cranium and they kindly cleaned me up & glued me together again like Humpty Dumpty!’

Joan Washington, his wife, said yesterday: ‘He’s quite all right. I really wouldn’t worry about it.’
