HEALTH CARE GOES DIGITAL IN THE SOUTH

-

Technology continues to alter how we do many things. One element of our lives that’s changing for the better is healthcare. The tech that provides many of us with constant activity, or even heart-monitoring, was available only to professionals a decade ago. Healthcare providers are also embracing digital change. Cork’s Mater Private Hospital opened a new Spine & Orthopaedic centre this year and have embarked on a digitisation program. They want to create a paperless hospital, with tech used everywhere. For example, if a patient is having a hip operation the implant will be scanned by iPhone before use. This implant record will be stored in the patient’s digital file forever. There are many more innovations at the hospital and it’s wonderful to know there’s vision and innovation going on, down south.
