IRELAND SLOWLY BACK ON THE MOVE AGAIN AS THAW SETS IN

FLIGHTS

DUBLIN Airport was back in business yesterday, but with delays from earlier cancellati­ons. Cork Airport reopened yesterday afternoon, also with delays due to a backlog. Shannon, Knock and Kerry Airports are open but customers are advised to check with their airline operators. Ryanair and Aer Lingus are asking customers to check flight details for possible disruption­s.

TRAINS

ThE majority of Irish Rail services are expected to resume tomorrow but delays are expected. Full resumption is subject to line inspection­s. Dart and Enterprise services were fully operationa­l yesterday while the Luas is expected to resume full service today.

ROADS

GARDAí have warned motorists not to make unnecessar­y journeys. Worst hit roads are in Kerry, Laois, Louth, Limerick, Tipperary, Westmeath, Carlow, Clare, Offaly, Waterford, Kilkenny, parts of Cork, Meath, Kildare, Wicklow and south and west Dublin. Dublin Bus resumed most services yesterday but on main roads and with reduced frequency. Private bus operators are expected to resume full service today. however, Bus Éireann has concerns for services in the southwest where conditions are ‘very poor’.
