Monica, you too were seduced by power

In An article for Vanity Fair, Monica Lewinsky muses that the vast power imbalance between her and President Clinton, all those years ago, might nullify her consent to their affair and potentially seal her membership of #MeToo!

Don’t get me wrong; Lewinsky was betrayed by her so-called friends and treated disgracefully by the White House and Ken Starr.

In that respect she was certainly abused. But it was precisely the imbalance of power that attracted her to Bill Clinton, and to brag about going to Washington as an intern to ‘earn her presidential kneepads’.

She may be embarrassed about it now, but she can’t deny how doggedly she pursued the lustre of power.
