A CRUCIAL WITNESS

DARA Florence, pictured, was a key witness in the rape trial. This week, speaking to the Irish Mail on Sunday, she was glad that the case was now over.

She said: ‘It’s been horrible for them and for her. I’m glad for them… (the verdict) it is what it is. It’s a big case and I know it’s of public interest. I can’t believe that when I went down to Dublin people recognised me.

‘I don’t want to talk because there’s been horrible things online about me and I just want it to be all over. It’s been horrible.’

Ultimately, her evidence was relied on to acquit Mr Jackson and Mr Olding of rape.

She testified that what she saw was a ‘threesome’ and appeared to her to be consensual.
