Gardaí pledge clampdown on Snapchatting drivers
MOTORISTS who Snapchat or use their phones to record videos while driving will face the full force of the law, the Irish Mail on Sunday can reveal.
Last week, we highlighted the growing trend of drivers Snapchatting behind the wheel.
A garda spokesperson said: ‘If a member of the public witnesses any breaches of the Road Traffic Act, we would encourage them to report the fact to the gardaí.’
A number of bloggers, influencers and business owners have been called out by the popular Instagram page Bloggers Unveiled, which posted videos of them driving and snapping.
It is understood that a huge number of members of the public contacted gardaí to complain.
In light of these complaints, An Garda Síochána told the MoS: ‘We can’t discuss named individuals. If anyone makes a complaint, it will be fully investigated.’
