Katie has got a Grand record

FIVE years ago, Katie and Ruby Walsh followed the Carberrys, Paul and Nina, as the second brother and sister pairing to ride in the Grand National at Aintree.

They repeated the feat in 2017 but a leg injury to Ruby prevents a hat-trick for the Walsh siblings next Saturday.

Nina has ridden in the National race six times and completed four, with a highest placing of seventh on Character Building in 2010.

This will be Katie’s sixth ride in the marathon race and she has the finest record of any female rider with a third-place finish and four successful completions out of five.
