SMART ENOUGH FOR MENSA? TRY THEIR IQ TEST

-

The brain is like a muscle and, as with any muscle, it needs to be exercised. That’s why people intuitively enjoy puzzles and challenges.

Puzzles can involve memory, verbal and numerical skills, spatial skills, creativity and intuition. Taking tests that exercise your brain can in turn make you mentally ‘fit’ and improve the capacity of your mind.

That’s why the Irish Mail on Sunday and Irish Daily Mail have teamed up with Mensa, the society for people with high IQs, to encourage readers to exercise their brains and IQ.

This series, which will continue each day until Wednesday, presents a series of puzzles for you to solve.

Each day’s questions will help you to understand not just the answer, but the process used to tackle each question. In this way, you’ll also be better equipped to tackle the challenges that life itself presents.

If you manage to answer 50% of the questions across this series, you will prove to be very wellequipped for Mensa membership and should sit a supervised test. There are around a dozen tests held at different venues around the country every year. For more information see mensa.ie.
