Mitu Misra’s debut, Lies We Tell (15A)

features Harvey Keitel as a billionaire, Demi, who, barely one scene in, keels over from a heart attack. Right-hand man Donald (Gabriel Byrne) moves in to deep-clean the married Demi’s love nest, where he meets the mistress, Amber (Sibylla Deen, right). When her life is threatened by gangsters, Donald steps up to the plate. In Professor Marston And The Wonder Women (15A) Luke Evans plays Marston, Rebecca Hall his psychologist wife Elizabeth, and Bella Heathcote their assistant. They set about developing a lie-detector, before, ahem, lying down in bed – all three of them. Dismissed from campus, they set up home together and Marston comes up with the idea for Wonder Woman. Sound weird? It’s all true. Don’t miss Gumshoe (12A) Stephen Frears’s debut picture, in which Albert Finney plays a bingo-teller who reinvents himself as a Bogart-style detective.
