Margo wrote the following song for Big Tom as thousands travelled across the country to Castleblay­ney in Monaghan to pay their final respects to him

The crowds they came, the queue was never ending, I stood and watched the teardrops fill their eyes, Everyone loved this country giant, my friend, our hero, Tom McBride, I love all the memories that we made together, times we had and songs we both sang, The music stopped the day you went to heaven, Rose came for you as the bells of heaven rang, So rest in peace dear Rose and Tom McBride, I can see you both now sitting side by side, I know your love is rekindled now in heaven, on earth we’ll miss you with each ebbing tide.
