MORE than 1,000 doctors signed a declaration pledging their support for a Yes vote in the referendum at an event in Dublin yesterday.

Monaghan GP Dr Ross Kelly said: ‘The law forces us to turn our back on them to the point where they often don’t involve us. Or you see a woman for a first pregnancy visit and then you never see her again.’

The event was attended by Minister for Health Simon Harris, who later also joined a cross-party Together For Yes event at Buswells Hotel which was also attended by Labour TD and former tánaiste Joan Burton.

Mr Harris yesterday said that the debate surrounding the referendum has been ‘marred by misinformation’.
