Calm down! Pay for Bake Off presenters defended

-

THE controversy shook the genteel world of Great British Bake Off: why did presenters get paid for the recent Stand Up To Cancer charity shows? Now host Sandi Toksvig has defended Channel 4’s decision to reward her, Noel Fielding, Prue Leith and Paul Hollywood. At the British LGBT Awards at the London Marriott Hotel on Friday, Sandi, right, said: ‘It takes weeks to shoot – you wouldn’t expect the crew to do it for free. No one talks about the donations we made. Everyone needs to calm down.’ Hollywood got more than €100,000. Bakers including Alan Carr and Harry Hill weren’t paid.
